Cynthia and Julien’s wedding: a celebration of creativity, complicity and love

Sortie de cérémonie de mariage d’un couple souriant sous les applaudissements et les confettis des invités en extérieur.

On 22 June 2024, Cynthia and Julien celebrated their love in a magical setting at Domaine Le Castelet. Although the rain played hide-and-seek during their wedding, it was a true ode to creativity and love, with decorations created entirely by the couple. Cynthia, a designer of handmade objects, poured her passion into every detail of the decoration.  Let’s dive into the warm, colourful world of this inspiring couple.

How and when did you meet?

We met at work and over time it became a beautiful love story.

What word(s) do you share?

Why did you choose Domaine Le Castelet for your wedding?

Getting married at Domaine Le Castelet was an obvious choice for us. From our very first visit, we could see ourselves in this magical place, with its magnificent exterior and warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to take full advantage of the beauty of the place as we had imagined. But as we all know, love and creativity can transform any situation.

What kind of decoration did you choose? Why did you choose it?

We decided to make our wedding unique by focusing on pink, a vibrant yet delicate colour that symbolises tenderness and romance. We chose a floral, colourful and, above all, homemade decoration!  The flowers, decorative objects and even the little touches were in harmony with this soft, warm colour. Each element was designed with care and love in our studio.  It added a personal and authentic touch to our day.

How did you organise the preparations?

We asked Mélodie, our wedding planner, to help us organise the decorations. However, the choice of colours, the floral arrangements… the whole visual identity, the creation of the decoration was thought out and designed by us. We had a clear vision of what our big day would look like.  We started the preparations two years before the big day, which meant we had time to choose every detail carefully.

How did you organise the ceremony?

Mélodie, our invaluable wedding planner, guided us through the ceremony. It was supposed to take place outside, but the weather decided otherwise. At the last minute, we decided to move the ceremony to the lane in front of the swimming pool, sheltered by tall trees and a few parasols. Far from destabilising us, this change gave us an intimate and warm setting. This change of plan added a touch of improvisation that made our ceremony even more memorable.

Why did you choose the suppliers you did?

We took the time to meet each provider, looking for a friendly approach and quality of service.  We got the right feeling from all of them. Their approach won us over and we knew we could trust them to make our day unforgettable.

What were your favourite moments?

For Julien, one of the most memorable moments was the start of the ceremony. He was particularly moved when he heard the surprise soundtrack that I’d recorded beforehand with the band. It was an emotional moment and I’m glad I was able to surprise him.For me, Cynthia, it was the first look, the suspended moment when Julien discovered me in my dress.

It was a moment of pure emotion that will remain engraved in our memories.

Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms?

We have one piece of advice for all future brides and grooms: let go. Even though we didn’t quite make it, especially with the weather, it’s important to make the most of every moment. Every moment of this day is precious and it’s important to focus on the love you share rather than the little unforeseen events. Don’t forget to make a note of who you want to be photographed with, especially your immediate family and children. This will save you a lot of hassle on the big day.

In the end, our wedding was a beautiful celebration of our love, filled with laughter, tears of joy and unforgettable memories. We were able to create a day that was very much our own, with a very personal vision and a warm atmosphere.
